We are currently seeking an entry level engineer to design and build solar arrays for spacecraft at Lockheed Martin. This critical component includes program phases progressing from initial concept development through design, build, test, and flight. Our team supports all lines of business at Lockheed Martin which means you could be designing solar arrays that power the next mission to Mars or the next generation of GPS satellites or systems that protect and defend our nation. In this role, you will: • Work under the direction of other engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop components, assemblies, and systems for Lockheed Martin Space products. • Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. • Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities. • Generate and release drawings using CAD software. • Be a member of multiple integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers. • Represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards. • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to supervise the build and test of the hardware in the production facility located next door to the engineering building. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline • Knowledge of mechanical modeling tools, such as Solidworks/CREO and drafting. • Ability to work in a reciprocal and team-based environment. • Willingness to travel when required. • Must be a US Citizen Desired skills • Experience designing solar arrays. • Background in composite structures and mechanisms design • User of CREO CAD software. • Familiar with releasing drawings in EPDM. . • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing • Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) • Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials • Desire to work with propulsion, structures, mechanisms, thermal, analysis and all things Lockheed Martin Space! Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 - $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $66,200 - $114,655.
