Bon App--tit Management Company operates over 1,000 caf--s across the country for corporations, universities, and museums, leading in socially and environmentally responsible sourcing and cooking from scratch with fresh, local ingredients.Role Summary:The Director of Operations partners with the RVP of operations for cafe strategy, financial management, business activations, and fostering a culture of excellence through service and experience. This role oversees cafe operations (including culinary), beverage bars, and Hubs, collaborating with other Line of Business owners and support functions like procurement, finance, and HSE. The position involves motivating, training, and directing managers to achieve exceptional results and project goals. It focuses on all aspects of the Google Food program within a specific region to support operational excellence, leveraging business knowledge, culinary, hospitality, and people management skills.Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with teams to operationalize the food program
  • Design, manage, and own the overall experience
  • Drive a culture of excellence
  • Ensure high-quality food preparation and taste
  • Oversee cafe initiatives aligned with Google/Bon App--tit
  • Manage and mentor staff to meet business goals
  • Monitor financial responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with employee guidelines
  • Promote Food and Workplace Safety
  • Communicate honestly and with integrity
  • Maintain budget standards and meet reporting deadlinesMinimum Qualifications:
    • At least 4 years of college or 10 years of industry experience
    • 5-7 years of management experience supervising senior managers
    • Experience in multi-unit restaurant or hotel operations
    • Strong problem-solving and strategic skills
    • Effective communication and motivation abilities
    • Passion for food and hospitality
    • Proven leadership and financial responsibility
    • Industry contacts for networking and recruitment
    • Ability to enhance profitability and sustainability
    • Coaching and presentation skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
    • Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
