Job Description LanceSoft is seeking a travel Child Life Specialist for a travel job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Child Life Specialist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: 26 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Life Specialist to support pediatric patients and their families in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will provide emotional support, therapeutic interventions, and education to help children and families cope with hospitalization, illness, and medical procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and families - Facilitate therapeutic and medical play based on age and developmental level - Prepare patients and families for tests, surgeries, and procedures - Offer non-pharmacological pain management techniques - Support children and families during procedures to ease anxiety and fear - Deliver bereavement support when needed - Advocate for patient and family needs within the care team - Teach coping skills and strategies for adjustment to hospitalization - Educate families on diagnoses and available resources - Maintain accurate and timely daily charting/documentation - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in child Life, Child Development, Education, or related field - Child Life Certification (CCLS) OR proof of eligibility (Required) Preferred Qualifications: - Acute Care experience (Preferred) - Strong knowledge of medical terminology - Experience providing family-centered care and education Skills & Competencies: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to provide patient advocacy and family support - Knowledge of child development and therapeutic interventions - Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team - Strong organizational and documentation skills Work Environment: - Pediatric acute care setting - Patient- and family-focused environment - Collaborative healthcare team About LanceSoft Established in 2000, LanceSoft is a Certified MBE and Woman-Owned organization.
