Job Summary
#CA-SSUnder general direction of the CDPH State Public Health
Veterinarian, this research data analyst position is responsible
for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of
analytical data. This role includes research collaboration:
including selecting data samples, developing data collection
instruments, analyzing compiled information according to
established statistical methods, and developing recommendations
based on information findings; In addition to preparation of
reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and

Bachelor's degree in related area and
/ or equivalent experience / training.Experience collecting and
analyzing data.Experience using Microsoft Office Software (Excel,
Word, PowerPoint) or related database management software.Knowledge
of elementary statistics and epidemiologic principles, including
methods of collecting and analyzing data.Functional skills with
standard Microsoft Office software.Ability to research, gather,
compile, and analyze data; conduct and interpret descriptive
statistical analyses using appropriate software to assist with
solutions.Ability to exercise sound judgment within generally
defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques
for obtaining solutions.Ability to manage time for efficient
prioritization and completion of assignments and projects; and gain
and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others, collaborate,
and work in multidisciplinary teams.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a local, state, or
federal public health agency. Knowledge of fundamental principles
of infectious diseases.Skills with basic facility with GIS
